Description: We’ve worked with the Virginia Chamber of Commerce to present the WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance, the first Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) in the state. Formed from a 30-year partnership between the Chamber and Anthem, the WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance is designed to help drive healthcare engagement and literacy that can lead to improved long-term health and lower healthcare costs. WiseChoice offers your clients/employees an alternative to Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans. These medically underwritten plans offer hassle-free access to quality care and lower costs. It’s an important step in expanding access to better health coverage for small businesses, which account for over 90% of employers in the state. Mary Ann Stripling helps you to get your “Ducks in a Row.” Many years of professional experience as both a teacher and a counselor have given Mary Ann the practical skills needed for helping people get their affairs in order, while personal experience has given her an understanding for the importance of leaving your “Ducks in a Row.” Although the topic is serious, Mary Ann’s approach is lighthearted, productive, and fun! Mary Ann Stripling has a Ph.D. in Family Studies from Virginia Tech, an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia, and a B.A. in English from Texas Tech. Mary Ann has been a high school teacher, a high school head counselor, and an assistant professor of Counselor Education at Eastern Mennonite University. The program is sponsored by the Shenandoah River Chapter DAR.
